BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - BOUND FOR GLORY
CD (UK, Leftfield Media, 2011)
The same UK label that released "Live at the Main Point 75" brings this CD called "Bound For Glory", a curious artifact that contains 12 live songs from Bruce's first tour in 1973, when he came out with his first album "Greetings From Asbury Park".
The album contains two concerts that were broadcast live back then. The first, acoustic, includes 5 songs recorded at a Boston radio station, with fun versions of "Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street" and "Wild Billy's Circus Story", plus the then unreleased "Bishop Danced" and "Song for Orphans" and a cover of Duke Ellington's "Satin Doll". The second show, from January 9th 1973, was recorded at the Main Point club and broadcast live by a radio station in Philadelphia. It includes 7 songs, with fantastic versions of "New York City Serenade", "Spirit in the Night" or the then unreleased "Thundercrack", "Santa Ana" and "Tokyo".
